Tribute to the life of Kyle Langlois

"On 4/20/2025, a diverse group of musicians gathered at Bully's Studios in New Westminster, BC to pay tribute to a fellow musician, friend and family member who left this world way too early. His name was Kyle Langlois. 8 bass players from various bands who had shared the stage with Kyle's bands over the years, would now stand alongside his brother Mike to play the songs they had written and performed together; the music of Kownterpoint and S.K.A. Opening the event was Brehdren, an incredibly talented group that would light up the dance floor right from the start and set the stage for the celebration of Kyle's life." When Mike first approached me with the idea of having 8 bass players performing a few songs each across two separate sets, I didn't know what to expect. An ambitious feat of such magnitude has got the potential to run into so many problems. Musicians often have a tendency to lack the discipline needed to coordinate their own gigs with much fewer performers, let alone an event involving a total of 21 performers that requires them to be ready to jump into action at the right moment in order to keep the show moving in a timely manner. That is however, unless you have the right musicians... That night, I had the honour and privilege of sharing the stage with some of the finest, high caliber and most disciplined artists this scene has to offer. The show ran beautifully from beginning to end, with everyone knowing exactly when they needed to plug in and perform. We were all there for one reason, to show our love and respect for Kyle, a man who touched the hearts of everyone in that room and far beyond, and whose spirit shall live on in the music. ~Toxic Mike This video is dedicated to the entire Langlois family and on behalf of all the musicians who performed that night, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for the opportunity to be part of this event and pay our respects.
